Scholarship Foundation
The Charles Dolo Coker Scholarship Foundation Inc. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist youth in their musical training and to nurture the seeds of Jazz proficiency in the young minds and hearts of students actively pursuing studies in music.
Our assistance is rendered in numerous ways: substantial monetary awards for competition winners, music lessons, purchasing and gifting needed musical instruments, and professional critique and guidance from established jazz musicians in the music industry. We encourage networking among peers, and give interested youth ongoing mentoring in music and life development.
Our annual April Tribute to Dolo Concert is a tribute to Dolo Coker and introduces our scholarship competition winners as they demonstrate their extraordinary talents. We also conduct a Jazz Clinic each September, where students and their families can learn directly from a panel of jazz greats, and a Jazz Showcase where established pros and up-and-coming stars can be seen, heard, and enjoyed.
